Although the previews said that Extra! would have something about "Lara's new guy" Friday, there was no such segment.  Maybe they'll have it on this week sometime.

New LFB interview on Entertainment Tonight!
Entertainment Tonight had a new interview with Lara Flynn Boyle today, October 26.  It turned out to be just a short blurb with Lara's reaction to getting a part in Men in Black 2.

Emmys scheduled for Nov. 4
Is the third time the charm?  The Emmy producers certainly hope so; they've rescheduled the 53rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards for November 4.

Speaking of Sex
Last week, I attended the world premiere screening of Lara's new movie, Speaking of Sex, at the Chicago International Film Festival.  I thought it was a very funny movie, and so did the rest of the audience.  It's a farcical comedy about sex (obviously) with a style that reminded me of the Farrelly bothers (There's Something About Mary).  If you like Lara Flynn Boyle, you'll like this movie.

Ms. Boyle was not there, but I did pass Wayne Night leaving the theater on my way in.  The director and producer were in attendance and indicated that they're having trouble getting the film to theaters.  That's a shame, because this is just the kind of movie the country needs right now.

Saturday Not Live
Contrary to what TV Guide said, Comedy Central did not show Lara's episode of Saturday Night Live last night, at least not in my area.

If you missed Lara hosting Saturday Night Live back in May, or you just want to see it again, you can catch an encore of that show this Saturday, October 20 at the usual time on NBC.

Emmys postponed again
Remember when I said I wasn't holding my breath about the Emmys?  Well, due to U.S. and British military action in Afghanistan, the 53rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were postponed for a second time.  Despite initial reports that the awards were cancelled, it is now expected that they will be rescheduled, perhaps for November 11 or 18.

Changes to Men in Black 2
The horrific terrorist attacks of September 11 have forced changes to Lara's upcoming movie Men in Black 2.  Access Hollywood reports that the film's climax was to have been set at the World Trade Center, but now will take place at the Chrysler building.  Ironically, the Chrysler building was also the setting for the finale in the original script.  According to the producers, the change will simply mean substituting one background for another in post-production, since the filming was done against a blue screen.

Changes to Men in Black 2

Another result of the attacks is that the 53rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, originally set for this Sunday, have been rescheduled for October 7.  (I'm not holding my breath though.)

Lara Featured on E.T.!
Entertainment Tonight had a segment on Lara on Tuesday, September 4.  It previewed her appearance in an the October issue of Talk magazine, which features Lara on the cover.

Conan O'Brien Encore
There was an encore of Conan O'Brien with Lara's appearance last night/this morning.  In my area, the show was cut short due to the President's public address.

Practice at Play
There was a humorous little story about a photo shoot for The Practice in Wednesday's Los Angeles Times.

Entertainment Tonight had a segment on Lara today.  It previewed her interview and photo layout in the August issue of Allure magazine, which also features Lara on the cover.

Boyle Replaces Janssen in MiB2!
Lara Flynn Boyle has nabbed the role of the lead villainess in Men in Black 2, replacing Famke Janssen.  Janssen dropped out after only one day of shooting due to an illness in her family.  Lara will play the alien vixen Serleena opposite Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.  For more details, see the Hollywood Reporter and Zap2it.com.

Lara Flynn Boyle was a guest on The Rosie O'Donnell Show on Tuesday, July 17.  (This was a repeat from March 30.)  She also appeared in a clip on Rosie's "funniest moments" show on Monday, July 16.

Emmy Nominations
Congratulations to Lara and her fellow cast members of The Practice!  The Practice has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.  Unfortunately, none of the main cast members received Emmy nominations.  However, Saturday Night Live was nominated for Best Costume for the episode that Lara hosted.
