Next, Comedy Central will be showing a 60 minute version of the episode of Saturday Night Live that Lara hosted last year on Monday, October 28. (This will probably be the last time I mention it because this episode has been on Comedy Central many, many times before.)

Fans of Twin Peaks will be happy to hear that it is returning to Bravo.  Appropriately enough, the two hour premiere will air on October 31.  You might want to record this, because it may be your only chance to see the pilot in its original form (i.e. as broadcast).  It was never released on VHS or DVD in the U.S., only overseas.

Finally, Lara's movie Since You've Been Gone will air on FX on November 1 and 2.  It's a comedy about a high school reunion - kind of like Romy and Michele's High School Reunion - but with darker humor.  This movie never made it into theaters and instead aired as a TV movie back in 1998.  I think this is the first time it will be on TV since then, although an R rated version has come out on video.  It seems to be airing in syndication too; check your local listings.

Lara meets Jackass
This Sunday, October 13, MTV will premiere the Jackass Backyard Barbeque Movie Party.  After showing up at the party for a preview of the Jackass movie, Lara was locked in a Port-a-Potty as one of the cast members tried (unsuccessfully) to push it over.  As you may recall, Lara worked with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville in Men in Black II.

New video and DVD releases
Speaking of Men in Black II, it will be released on VHS and DVD on November 26, 2002.  Another of Lara's movies, Speaking of Sex, is supposed to released on DVD in Canada on November 5.  I don't know if (or when) it will be released in the U.S.  I'll be sad if this movie never makes it to the big screen.  I saw it at the Chicago Film Festival and I thought it was pretty good - certainly a lot better than most of what's in theaters nowadays.  Of course, I'm a little biased.  Chain of Fools, another movie Lara made that has been sitting on the shelf, was recently released on DVD in Australia.  I haven't heard anything about a U.S. release yet.

There are a couple new links in the links section.  Luca Mattei has a nice Twin Peaks site in Italian.  Even if you don't read Italian, there are some great pictures on his site.  Also, a fan pointed out that the site Japander.com (which pokes fun at Americans who make commercials for Japanese TV) has a quicktime movie of Lara's Japanese shampoo commercial.

VIRUS ALERT

Lately, I have been receiving a lot of e-mails carrying viruses such as Klez.  This is a mass mailing virus that sends itself to everyone in the infected user's address book.  My computer has not been infected so far, but these viruses pose a continuing threat to my computer, and therefore to this web site.  I am asking that all visitors to this web site think twice before putting my e-mail (from the contact page) in their address book.  Do you really need to have it in there?

Most of the viruses come from just a few people, but even a few bad apples can spoil the bunch.  If I continue to get these viruses by e-mail, I may have to block all e-mail from the offending addresses, and/or contact the offenders' ISPs to ask that they be sanctioned.  As a last resort, I may disable my contact e-mail entirely, which would prevent me from getting any feedback.  I really don't want to do any of these things, so please make sure your computer isn't part of the problem.

If you receive a message containing a virus with lfbonline.com as part of the "From:" address, be aware that it is NOT from me.  Viruses such as Klez use the infected users address book to fake the return addresses of the messages they send out.  So the mail is probably coming from someone who has both your e-mail and mine in their address book.

Lara Ranks high on E!'s list
Today on E!, Rank rates the top 25 bachelorettes in Hollywood.  Lara is number 9 on the list.  If you miss it, don't worry; it will be on again, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and probably numerous other times as well.  (After all, this is E! we're talking about.)

MIIB out of this world at box office
Lara's new movie, Men in Black II, set a new box office record over the July 4 weekend.  Despite mixed reviews, the movie pulled in $54.1 million between Friday and Sunday, topping the old record of $51.1 million for the July 4 weekend set by the first Men in Black.  As of Monday, the film had raked in about $90 million.

Reign of Fire premiere
According to this report, Lara is on the guest list for the premiere of Reign of Fire, taking place tonight at the Village Theatre in Westwood, CA.  Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that she will be there.  (I had heard that she would be in Europe promoting MIIB, but that could be later in the week.)

On newsstands now: tons of stuff about LFB
If you haven't gotten enough LFB from her recent TV appearances, check out the newstands.  She's featured in the summer issue of Gotham magazine, the July issue of Rosie magazine, and the August issue of Jane.  There are also articles about her in the US Weekly (July 8-15) and Entertainment Weekly (June 28/July 5).

Early Show late
Lara wasn't on the Early Show Monday (July 1), but she was on Tuesday (July 2).  As sometimes happens with live TV and especially news programs, it seems that there was a last minute schedule change.  In an interview lasting about 5 minutes, she talked about Men in Black II, working with Will Smith, and being famous.

Lara on the tube this week
Lara will be making even more be TV appearances this week, mainly as part of the Men in Black II publicity tour.  In addition, you may be able to catch repeats of some of the shows she was on last week. Scheduled appearances in include:

I've been told by the people at Last Call with Carson Daly that Lara Flynn Boyle's upcoming appearance on their show has been cancelled (notwithstanding the fact that TV Guide says she will be on the June 27/28 show).
