Lara gets Punk'd
Lara is the latest victim of the MTV reality show
Punk'd. In this week's
episode (#204), Lara thinks she's getting a free shopping spree. Then she's told
she has to pay $25,000. If you missed it the first time around, this episode will
air again tonight (Nov. 21), Sunday (Nov. 23), next Friday (Nov. 28), and next Saturday
(Nov. 29). Check your local listings for exact air times.

LFB to direct?
According to a Fox News
report, Ms. Boyle will
soon be directing a project for HBO. No one seems to know what type of project it
is, but it's supposed to start production in New York soon. So far, I haven't
heard any other source reporting this. I'll post more info when/if I get
it.
Back in Practice?
If you listen to Gail Shister of The Philadelphia Inquirer, there is reason
to hope that Lara Flynn Boyle may return to The Practice. In her
column last Thursday, entitled
"Spader's in a new role:
Savior" (That's jumping the gun a bit, don't you think?), Shister wrote:
The producers have spoken "informally" to fellow ex-regulars Kelli Williams,
Lisa Gay Hamilton and Boyle about doing guest shots, [executive producer Bob] Breech
says, but nothing's set.
It's good to be bad!
This weekend's Access Hollywood counted down Hollywood's top ten "bad
girls." Lara didn't make the list, but did receive an honorable mention.

LFB worst dressed
People magazine has come out with it's annual Best and Worst Dressed
issue this week. Lara made the Worst Dressed list for the pink
tutu she wore to this year's Golden Globes.
LFB Ranked high
Over labor day weekend, I happened to catch Rank: Hollywood Bachelorettes
2003 on E! Lara was ranked #20 in their list of Hollywood's hottest
bachelorettes. The segment on Lara was the same as in last year's
Rank, as far I could tell. (She slipped from last year's rank of #9
- perhaps due to her painfully thin appearance of late.)
I don't know when the show will air again, but I'll post the info if I hear
anything.
The Dead Poll
Do you think The Practice will survive without Lara and the other departed
cast members? Me neither. Vote on how long you think it will last in the new
poll.
New pics
I've added a few new photos from the ESPY Awards as well as a couple of publicity shots
to the Photo Gallery.

ESPY Awards
According to TV Barn, Lara Flynn Boyle will be a
presenter at the 11th Annual ESPY Awards, which will be broadcast live on ESPN on
Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time. There will be a one hour Red Carpet
Show starting at 8:00 P.M.

Boyle burgled!
The New York Post reports that Lara Flynn Boyle's home was burglarized about a month ago.
The thief made off with LFB's favorite jewelry, worth tens of thousands of
dollars, as well as personal papers containing her Social Security number and other
sensitive information. The thief, who has still not been apprehended, then
apparently used this information to open fraudulent credit accounts and receive payments
in Ms. Boyle's name. (This just goes to show that anyone can be a victim of
identity theft, even a celebrity.)
This incident probably explains why Ms. Boyle sold her
Beverly Hills home and moved to a new house last month. At least she was able to
get designer Devon Page McCleary to replace her stolen jewelry.

Out of Practice
Just a week after The Practice was miraculously renewed for next season,
creator David E. Kelley announced that seven regular cast members - Lara Flynn Boyle,
Dylan McDermott, Kelli Williams, Marla Sokoloff, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Chyler Leigh, and
Bill Simtrovich - have been cut from the series. Kelley said that the massacre -
uh, I mean the shakeup - was necessary to keep the show within it's budget, which ABC
basically cut in half. Insiders also say that Kelley wanted to rejuvenate the show,
although one would think that there must be better ways to do that.
McDermott will guest star in at least 4 episodes next
season, but it's unclear if Boyle or any of the others will return.

ABC renews The Practice!
Believe it or not, ABC has renewed The Practice for the 2003-2004 TV
season. Even better (IMHO), they are moving it back to its old timeslot on Sunday
at 10 P.M. Eastern/Pacific.

May 5, 2003
The Practice "finale" tonight
Don't miss the "finale" of The Practice tonight. ABC is
being vague about whether this is season finale or series finale, since they haven't
yet decided whether to renew the show for next season. On a related note, you
can voice your opinion about this in the latest poll.
In other TV news, you may have heard that Lara was
going to be a presenter at MTV's tribute to Metallica. I heard that too.
But don't look for her when the special airs on Tuesday, May 6, as Ms. Boyle
apparently wasn't there.

Golden Moment
If you liked the ballerina outfit that Lara Flynn Boyle wore to the 2003 Golden
Globe Awards, you're not alone. Lara won a Golden Hanger for it at the
2003 Golden Hanger Awards, broadcast live on E! last Monday.
Imitation is apparently not the best form of flattery though, as Hillary Swank was voted
one of the worst dressed for her ballerina-inspired Oscar dress. Anyway, if you
missed the show, it will be on again April 20, 21, and 24. Check
E! Online or your local listings for the times.
What was that number?
The web service that was providing the hit counter on the front page has been down for
several days. There's no indication when or if it will be back up. If it
doesn't come back soon, I'll set up a new counter. The thing is, I don't remember
what the last count was. I know it was up around 500,000 or so. If you have
a better recollection, please e-mail me at
.

The Last Goodbye?
The verdict isn't in on whether The Practice will be renewed for another
season, but it doesn't look good. Just as David Kelley predicted, the show's
have ratings have plunged since ABC moved it to Monday night. It didn't help that
ABC preempted the show several times, interrupted it with "breaking news",
and showed repeats instead of the new episodes they promised. So,
as
USA Today reports, the show is now "on the bubble."
According to the New York Post, Kelley has written an episode entitled Goodbye,
which could serve as either a season or series finale.
There is no decision yet though, so there may still be
a chance to save the show. USA Today has a poll where you can vote
to save The Practice and 18 other shows. Here is the URL:
http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/2003-04-05-sos.htm
If you care about The Practice, and/or
you just can't live without your weekly dose of LFB, please take a minute to vote.
Maybe ABC executives will think twice before axing one of their award-winning
dramas. (I'm not holding my breath though.)

Out of Practice?
When ABC moved The Practice from it's successful Sunday night timeslot to Monday night,
everyone from David E. Kelley to fans to TV critics said it was a mistake. Voice
your opinion on the subject by voting in the new poll.

Tutu much?
Lara became the talk of the town at this year's Golden Globe Awards when
she showed up dressed as a ballerina, complete with a tutu. She said she was going
for the look of "either a prima ballerina or prima donna." Her outfit was
thoroughly bashed by fashion critics, many calling her "worst dressed."
The designer, David Cardona, defended the dress, saying it was "fun."
You can find some photos of it in the Photo Gallery, and you
can share your opinion by voting in our poll.
More photos
Besided the Golden Globe photos, I've added three other photos to the
Photo Gallery. This
one was sent in by Ivo Vynckier; I'm not sure where it's from. Also, I've
added some links to the Links section for the sources
of some of our photos.
Mal-Practice?
ABC says that The Practice now can be seen at "better night, better
time." Viewers apparently disagree. In its first airing in its new
timeslot The Practice finished last among the big four networks.
Angered by the move and subsequent low ratings, executive producer David E. Kelley has
accused ABC of trying to kill the show.

Lara Flynn Boyle has been added to the list of presenters for this Sunday's
Golden Globe Awards on NBC.

Happy New Year!
The new year brings ten new additions to the Photo Gallery!
Thanks to Randal Manthei at Big Pictures USA
and John Wilcock for allowing me to use the photos on this site. Note that those
parties retain all rights, so please contact them regarding the use or reproduction of
these photos.
Also, since it's a new year, I figured it was time for a
new poll. Check it out and tell us if you think The
Practice was snubbed by the Golden Globes.
MIIB clips
As you may know, Men in Black 2 came out on DVD and VHS a couple
months ago. To promote the DVD, the folks at Sony have made available
several multimedia clips as examples of the sort of extra features you'll find
on the Special Edition DVD. Here they are - enjoy!
Note: the Windows Media clips seem to play better than the Real Player clips,
at least on my computer.
